CHRISTIAN COUNSELING

In Christian counseling, also known as pastoral counseling or Bible counseling, faith plays an important role in the healing process.

Christian counseling combines your faith with the principles of psychology to improve your mental health and relationships. More specifically, this therapy approach uses scripture and biblical teachings to help you deal with life’s challenges.

When you are in the midst of troubling life events like the death of a loved one or pet, the loss of a job, declining health, financial problems, and/or relationship issues, a strong and resilient faith may be just what is missing from your life.

The ultimate goal of Christian counseling is to help Christians identify behaviors that are inconsistent with God’s teachings, so they can become more accepting of God’s will - even when it’s not their will. Christian counselors believe that the Bible is the ultimate guide on how people, especially Christians, should think and behave. In other words, they view this holy book as the one and only truth.

BENEFITS OF
POSITIVE SELF-ESTEEM
  • A fuller social life

  • Ability to accurately self assess yourself

  • Confidence

  • Recognition of your strengths and weaknesses

  • Resilience to life's difficulties/challenges

  • Self Acceptance

How much do your value yourself (on a scale of 1 to 10, where 1 = "not much")? How do you see yourself?

ACCEPTANCE &
COMMITMENT THERAPY
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a type of psychotherapy and clinical behavior analysis. It's based on the idea that pain, grief, and other challenges are inevitable, and the goal is to help people adapt to them.
MOTIVATIONAL
INTERVIEWING

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a short-term, client-centered approach that helps people find the motivation to change their behavior. It's often used when a patient is resistant to treatment or refuses to admit they have a problem.

MI can also be used early in recovery to help clients overcome ambivalence.

SOLUTION-FOCUSED
THERAPY

Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT) is a brief, goal-oriented, psychotherapy approach that focuses on finding and amplifying a client's strengths, resources, and solutions.

SFT emphasizes solutions rather than delving into underlying issues. It focuses on present and future goals rather than past problems.

COGNITIVE BEHAVIORAL
THERAPY

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a type of psychotherapy that can help people change unhealthy ways of thinking, feeling, and behaving.

CBT is a structured, goal-oriented type of talk therapy that uses self-help strategies to improve quality of life.

RATIONAL EMOTIVE
BEHAVIOR THERAPY

Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) is a form of psychotherapy that helps you identify self-defeating thoughts and feelings, challenge the nature of irrational and unproductive feelings, and replace them with healthier, more productive beliefs.

REBT, focuses mostly on the present time to help you understand how unhealthy thoughts and beliefs create emotional distress which, in turn, leads to unhealthy actions and behaviors that interfere with your life and goals. Once identified and understood, negative thoughts and actions can be changed and replaced with more positive and productive behavior, allowing you to develop more successful personal and professional relationships.

REBT can help you with negative emotions such as anxietydepressionguilt, problems with self-worth, and extreme or inappropriate anger. This approach is also used to help change stressful and self-defeating behaviors, such as aggression, unhealthy eating, and procrastination that can get in the way of your quality of life and reaching your goals.
